Stackwise legal
Privacy Policy
This policy explains the information StackWise may collect, how it may be used and shared, and the choices available to visitors.
Please do not submit passwords, payment-card data, health information, government identifiers, trade secrets, or other highly sensitive information in a StackWise prompt.
1. Scope and operator
This Privacy Policy applies to stackwise.studio and related StackWise pages, assessment tools, recommendation experiences, and communications operated by The Hemphill Group, LLC. It does not govern the independent privacy practices of software providers or other websites reached through external links.
2. Information we may collect
Information you provide
- Business descriptions, workflow details, problems, goals, follow-up prompts, and other text you submit to the assessment or refinement experience.
- Messages, feedback, correction requests, or other communications you choose to send.
- Contact information if you voluntarily request a response, pilot, service, or update.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browser information, approximate location derived from an IP address, language, operating system, and similar technical data.
- Pages viewed, referring pages, dates and times, clicks, assessment events, outbound-link activity, errors, and similar usage data.
- Cookie, local-storage, session, and comparable identifiers used to operate history, preferences, security, analytics, or referral attribution.
Information from partners
Affiliate platforms and software providers may report that a referral link was clicked or that a trial, signup, lead, or purchase occurred. The detail provided depends on the partner. We do not need or request your payment-card number from a software provider to receive referral reporting.
3. How we may use information
- Provide, personalize, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot StackWise.
- Generate software recommendations, comparisons, estimated costs, and implementation roadmaps.
- Maintain session or history functionality and remember selected preferences.
- Measure page performance, recommendation engagement, outbound clicks, and referral outcomes.
- Improve prompts, models, taxonomies, editorial content, product selection, and user experience.
- Respond to messages, enforce our terms, prevent fraud or abuse, and meet legal obligations.
4. AI processing
Text submitted to an AI-assisted feature may be transmitted to service providers that supply language-model, hosting, logging, security, or infrastructure functions. Those providers may process the text and associated technical information on our behalf, subject to their agreements with us. Do not submit information you are not authorized to share.
5. How information may be disclosed
We may disclose information to vendors that help us provide hosting, AI processing, analytics, security, communications, and referral attribution. We may also disclose information when required by law; to protect rights, safety, or the service; in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets; or with your direction or consent.
External recommendation links take you to independent providers. Those providers may collect information under their own privacy notices. Their practices are not controlled by StackWise.
6. Cookies, analytics, and affiliate attribution
StackWise and its service providers may use cookies, browser storage, pixels, server logs, and similar technologies. Essential technologies support security and core functions. Analytics technologies help us understand use of the service. Affiliate technologies help a provider or partner platform attribute a qualifying action to StackWise. Browser settings and privacy tools may limit some technologies, but doing so can affect functionality or attribution.
7. Sale, sharing, and targeted advertising
We do not sell personal information for money. Some privacy laws define “sale” or “sharing” broadly enough to include certain analytics, advertising, or cross-site referral technologies. If StackWise engages in activity subject to those definitions, we will provide any legally required notice and opt-out mechanism.
8. Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including operating and improving StackWise, maintaining security, resolving disputes, documenting referral activity, and complying with legal obligations. Retention periods vary by data type, context, provider configuration, and applicable law. Information stored only in your browser may remain until you clear browser data or the application removes it.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the service. No transmission, storage system, or AI service is completely secure. You use StackWise and submit information at your own risk.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or information about the processing of personal information, and to appeal or opt out of certain uses. We may need to verify a request and may retain information where permitted by law. You may also clear browser storage, use browser privacy controls, or avoid submitting optional information.
11. Children
StackWise is intended for business users and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us at hello@stackwise.studio so we can review the request.
12. International use
StackWise and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries whose data-protection rules differ from those in your location. Where required, appropriate transfer mechanisms may be used.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the service, providers, law, or business practices. The effective date at the top indicates the latest published version. Material changes may be communicated through the site or another appropriate channel.
